Fecal WBCs break down rapidly in the stool due to bacterial toxins, which makes visual microscopic identification challenging, subjective, and susceptible to false negative results.

The LEUKO EZ VUE® test detects elevated levels of lactoferrin, a marker for fecal leukocytes and an indicator of intestinal inflammation. Detection of lactoferrin is unaffected by bacterial toxins.¹ Unlike traditional fecal WBC smear, the LEUKO EZ VUE® test provides fast, sensitive, and accurate results in samples up to 2 weeks old.
